Brownber House
Beautifully renovated Victorian farmhouse on the Brownber Estate, at the foot of the Howgill Fells
A little more info about the House
Brownber House is a neighbouring property to the Hall, on the Brownber Estate. The House sleeps up to 8 people across 4 bedrooms. It has been renovated to a very high standard by Georgina Kentish (former Soho House architect), with connecting kitchen and dining room and two comfortable sitting rooms with log-burning stoves. Bedrooms are well-appointed and bathrooms luxurious. There is a charming private garden to the rear of the property, with barbeque, fire pit and outdoor seating areas.
You’ll find a welcome hamper of freshly-baked sourdough, a jar of award-winning marmalade plus homemade cakes and biscuits waiting for you on arrival.
Brownber is set within a wonderfully rural location, away from the crowds but still well-placed a day out in the Lakes or the Dales. It provides the perfect base for outdoor adventures. Join the Coast-to-Coast path for some serious walking, explore sleepy country lanes by bicycle, enjoy a bracing plunge in one of the many local wild swimming spots or hop onto the wonderfully scenic Carlisle to Settle railway. Return to deep comfort, dark skies, a barbecue and a fire pit. Smardale nature reserve is just on your doorstep and Kirkby Stephen is about seven miles away for stocking up.
